The latest on the proposals

We will post here whenever there is something to share: new drawings, changes to the design, dates for the diary, and progress through the planning process.

The design review panel's report is now available

When our proposals went before the Design South East design review panel on 12 August, we committed to publishing the panel's report here in full as soon as we received it. It has now arrived, and you can read it in full on our documents page.

The panel welcomed the site analysis we had carried out and agreed that the site can support a high-quality residential development. They also set out a series of recommendations about how the layout, movement and landscape design should develop as the scheme progresses, and we are now working through those with our design team. A further design review is expected as the proposals develop.

We said at the outset that we would be open about this process whatever the feedback, and publishing the report in full is part of that. If you would like to discuss anything in it, please get in touch through the contact form on this site.

Road survey next week, and the design review panel

A number of residents raised concerns about construction traffic during our consultation, and we take those concerns seriously. To understand the local road network properly, we have appointed Survey Solutions, an independent surveying firm, to carry out a full topographical survey of the roads around Maybourne Rise.

This is an unobtrusive survey. It will take place on Monday 17 August and will involve two operatives. They will be surveying Maybourne Rise and the surrounding verges only, and will not survey any private property.

Separately, our design review panel meeting was held on 12 August, and some of you may have seen us on site. We have been advised that the panel's report should be with us in around ten working days. As we have said before, we will publish it here on this website for anyone to read as soon as we receive it.

If you have any questions about either the survey or the proposals, please get in touch through the contact form on this site.

Site investigation works

Technical ground investigation works will take place at the Maybourne Rise site between Monday 10 and Monday 17 August. This is standard survey work to understand the ground conditions and how water drains through the site, and the results will inform the drainage design and the planning application.

The works are on private land within the site. There will be a small excavator, a water tanker and a small drilling rig on site during the day, along with a few operatives. The site will be left safe once testing is complete.

There will be no road closures and no interruption to access along Maybourne Rise. Vehicles will use the existing track and we have asked the contractors to take care with it. Work will be during normal working hours only, with nothing at weekends.

If you have any questions about the works, please get in touch through the contact form on this site.

Attending the design review panel

At our recent public consultation, some residents asked whether they, or a representative on their behalf, would be able to attend the forthcoming design review panel meeting. We have since had it confirmed by both the design review panel and Woking Borough Council that attendance is not permitted; design review panels are independent, confidential design sessions rather than public meetings. In keeping with our commitment to being fully open about this application, we will obtain a copy of the design review panel's report and publish it here on this website once it is available.

Thank you for coming to our consultation event

Our public consultation event was well attended, with around 70 people joining us. We are grateful to everyone who came and took the time to share their thoughts. We understand that proposals like these are bound to cause worry for people living nearby, and we do not take that lightly. We are committed to being fully open and communicative throughout the pre-application and planning period, keeping this website updated and passing all comments we receive to the local planning authority.

Public consultation opens

We have launched this website to share our early proposals for land at Maybourne Rise and to invite comments from neighbours and the wider community. The draft masterplan is available to view, and you can send us your thoughts through the have your say page. This is the beginning of the conversation, not the end of it.

Your views will help shape this scheme

We may not be able to reflect every comment, but we want to hear all of them. The more we understand what matters to you, the better the scheme can be for this location.
